Lost in Starlight |
The story was rather predictable, but still made me cry, so I guess that's the plus. But the enviro! Holy shit! The world was absolutely stunning and the entire movie is worth watching just because of that. |

Chungking Express |
Weird? Interesting...? |
| Movie |
Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc |
Amazing, as expected. |
| Book |
Entangled Life: How Fungi Make Our Worlds, Change Our Minds and Shape Our Futures by Merlin Sheldrake |
I love mushrooms and I need to learn more about them. This is a great place to start. |
| Manga |
Alice, Doko Made mo |
This is my favourite ongoing manga! A cute/popular "dumb" girl wants to become the first Japanese female astronaut, and a friendless "smart" guy helps her with this dream. Sweet, informative, and just makes me warm and emotional. The main girl isn't dumb, but sees the world differently, the guy is passionate about many things, but is misunderstood by his peers. No romance, just Alice chasing her dream and her friend being supportive and autistic about random stuff, I love it! |
| Youtube Series |
Anime Police |
Yes, the short comedy youtube series, because I had a mood for something from the "good old youtube times". It's still great. |
| TV Series |
1670 Season 2 |
Second season is a bit different from the first one - I enjoyed both, but preferred the first one slightly more. Still, the humor, the characters, the production value - I'm glad we can make something fun in this country. |
| Anime movie |
Blue Giant |
This is an anime movie about jazz... I don't really like nor know anything about jazz. It felt funny watching in-movie people getting reeeally invested in some saxophone solo which sounded absolutely horrible for me. But I enjoyed the movie despite that (maybe because it was set in modern Tokyo, which sparked nice memories). |
| Manga |
The Summer Hikaru Died |
Just... woah, okay? |
| Book |
Before the Coffee Gets Cold by Toshikazu Kawaguchi |
Neat concept and that's pretty much it. I was quite irritated with how women were written - always giving up their lives, bodies or independence for others. Yes, in all four stories in that book. |
| Book |
Yellowface by R. F. Kuang |
It's by one of my favourite authors, so I was not disappointed. I've read that in one day. |
| Manga |
Strikeout Pitch and Harukaze Mound |
Two new baseball mangas. First one is absolutely hilarious, every chapter makes me laugh. Second one is about twins and rivals - one is a "proper right-handed pitcher" playing in a "proper team", the second is an underhand southpaw playing with boys who, for various reasons, do not fit in those "proper" teams. |
| Manga |
The Apothecary Diaries |
Medieval china, fun medical knowledge and mysteries~ |
| Anime |
Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury |
Re-watch after not even a year. Still beautiful and painful |
| Book |
Kameliowy Sklep Papierniczy by Ito Ogawa |
Slow and nostalgic book about a stationery shop, letters, caligraphy, set in Kamakura. Not in English unfortunately! |
| Manga |
Catch me at the ballpark! |
Light and funny manga centered around about uriko (beer girl) and the 30-something regular watching baseball games. |
| Manga |
Liar Game |
I enjoyed One Outs so much, I had to read more from the same author. Really great psychological manga, but I found ending too rushed... |
| Manga |
One Outs |
Splendid psychological slash gambling slash baseball manga!!! |
| Webtoon |
Hand Jumper |
I've been reading many webtoons (not only Swolemates I swear), but this one stands out. Damn! I absolutely love MC's mind, the art is great, story engaging, worldbuilding fun (not without its small issues but I'm super nitpicky so nevermind) |
| Webtoon |
The Greatest Estate Developer |
Another one worth mentioning. This is one of the funniest thing I've read in my life AND it has some fun architecture aspects! |
| Anime |
Ace of Diamond |
Finished. Probably my fav sports anime now |
| Manga |
20th Century Boys |
Reading now / on hold |
| Manga |
Fire Punch |
VERY dark from the very beginning and it doesn't really get much lighter later. But I enjoyed seeing different faces of the protagonist, the artistic choices for cropping the frames, and the story kept surprising me to the end. |
| Anime |
One Piece |
Around 350 ep right now... |
| Book |
The Lonesome Bodybuilder by Yukiko Motoya |
I think I'll drop this one. It's weird because the stories start great and then the endings are just disappointing! I thought that maybe that's the case with one or two stories, but no, so far every one of them left me... just *shrug* |
| Book |
We'll Prescribe You a Cat by Syou Ishida |
Stories about a peculiar clinic prescribing cats as a medicine. Made me laugh and made me cry. "You know the old saying: A cat a day keeps the doctor away." |
| Book |
This is Amiko, Do You Copy? by Natsuko Imamura |
This was a novella from the neurodivergent girl's POV. She's a unique kind of unreliable narrator. With all the stigma around her condition, she experiences neglet while trying to deal with her life. Overall pretty heartwrenching. |
| Book |
Asa: The girl who turned into a pair of chopstics by Natsuko Imamura |
Finally something Murata-like. The stories are kind of similar, weird and surreal, leaving with the void after finishing them. |
| Book |
Never split the difference: negotiating as if your life depended on it by Chris Voss |
Cool read. Former FBI member talks about tricks he uses in negotiations with terrorists and kidnappers and how they can be used in real, boring life (tricks, not terrorists) |
| Book |
Factfulness: Ten reasons why we're wrong about the world - and why thing are better than you think by Hans Rosling |
Amazing. Easily one of the top of my reads, ever. Toolbox for a data-driven critical thinking. Must-read!!! |
| Game |
Pokemon Black |
Replaying this old gem, but this time in Japanese |
| Book |
Futureproof by Kevin Roose |
Depressing, but needed |
